LOCAL PEST CONTROLLERS ARE IN YOUR AREA DEALING WITH ISSUES NOW!
In most cases, the pest controller applies an insecticide near the nest entrance. The wasps will bring the chemical inside, which will kill them after a couple of days.
It's normal to see the odd wasp entering your property during the summer months, but larger swarms indicate a nest somewhere nearby.
Normally removing a wasp nest will incur a one-off fee. However this depends on the location, accessibility and amount of activity in the area.
Adult worker wasps can live between 12 – 22 days while the queen will survive for the entire year until the cold causes the colony to die off. If you are accounting the time that it takes for a wasp egg to develop into an adult, it can take between 40 - 60 days depending on external environmental factors.
A queen wasp will lay around 100 eggs per day. In total it takes approximately 28-48 days from egg to adult, although the length of time spent in each stage is determined by environmental factors.
Like any pest, wasps will stay as close to a food source as possible. Avoid leaving food outside or on worktops. Ensure your food is stored in sealed containers or cupboards and keep your surfaces clean; especially outside.
